Step off the road into 154 Breakfast Club occupying a narrow tiled space, seating 30 to 40 people at a time— a spot in Koramangala that drives in an ardent breakfast crowd on a weekend. Following up a night out with a late breakfast at this no-frills place, we ordered both savoury and sweet items for a balanced but hearty meal, before work.
The Big Breakfast and The Three Way Breakfast includes chicken and pork sausage, generous helpings of bacon, dollops of baked beans, soft baked potatoes, char-grilled tomatoes, a basket of bread with a side of fried and scrambled eggs. Our mini pancakes were drowned in golden syrup, to compensate the weak cups of coffee and prevent further gluttony.
For the health conscious, the menu included omelettes made from egg whites, stuffed with barbecued beef and chicken or ham, bacon and cheese, spinach and mushrooms. With all day breakfasts on almost every menu, the city welcomes a spot like 154 Breakfast Club, where the overspill of hungry diners line up to stare unobserved at intimate plates of pancakes, sizzling bacon, steaming cups of fresh coffee, all amidst the pleasant sounds of morning chatter and the satisfaction of being fed.
