The first sight that graces you upon entering Golkonda Chimney is the outdoor seating that’s galore. Trust me when I say this but there’s nothing worse than sitting in a cramped restaurant. Imagine making your way through the meal as you succumb to the sound of burps and loud chewing from the table next to you.
There’s also nothing more satisfying than an al-fresco chow down. Golkonda Chimney does its part in epitomising the idea of how spacious and accommodating a restaurant should be. There is a standard being created here, look and learn, all you other restaurants!
Every table on the outside has an umbrella which adds a private feel to your dining experience.
The Treasure Chest
A treasure chest to a fort is what food is to a restaurant; it’s certainly like the most valuable gem in your jewel box. The aroma of spices sizzling onto the meat was a clear indication that food would be the next category to make an impression.
We ordered the Chimney Kebab, which was served on a charcoal grill. I always love the fact that my food stays hot even while I’m devouring it so they instantly earned extra brownie points for the grill on the table. The Fresh Water Fish Tikka was another starter that we sampled and were astounded by the succulence and depth of flavours. For the main course it had to be Chicken Tikka Masala! I mean, there’s no other food that distinguishes the taste of Mughlai cuisine like this globally acclaimed dish. It was on-point and tasted delish with the Ghee Rice.
As we dug into the scrumptious offerings, it was very obvious that they’ve recreated Mughal flavours with a semblance to authenticity but this was an equally interesting spin. A burst of unique flavours paired with the richness that is inherent to Mughal cuisine, were present in our meal.
The prompt staff is attentive to your needs and they’re also helpful with their suggestions and recommendations.
Into The Candlelit Cocoon
While this is a great spot for large families, the romantic at heart would also find an unperturbed, comforting vibe in this restaurant.
Needless to say, if you’re going out on a date and want to dig in to some contemporary Mughlai food, this is a place that you must consider. The fairy lights against the patio setting will set the mood just right for date night.
