Snugly tucked away in the north-eastern suburbs of Namma Ooru, Bengaluru, Giselle is a rare yet precious gem that beams radiantly. What makes this resto-cafe so unique?
Nothing makes a good first impression like the comfort of a rustic environment. As we settle down, keenly discerning our surroundings, we feel the heart, soul and sweat that has gone into this quaint resto cafe.
Giselle, is one of those picturesque restaurants that unveil how much effort, time and attention to detail has been invested in its making.
Right from the quirky framed posters, to the brick wall, and the al-fresco patch of green, it’s all an overtone of the idyllic vibe.
In the meanwhile, our rumbling stomachs start to plead for food. The owner seems to sense our starvation. He makes quite the witty debut and jokes about how he opened Giselle in tribute of his chicken wings’ recipe from the 9th grade! Of course, the chicken wings, like everything else on their menu and in the ambiance has gone through rounds of iterations, constant trial and error. The results?
On My Plate
We couldn’t resist ordering the chicken wings after our congenial host sold them to us with a touch of nostalgia. The chicken wings, if they could still flap, would soar higher than all of his claims; blessed to bathe in the legendary Giselle Sauce. Nuff said.
The chicken wings, however, were not alone in their glory. The other contenders on the table did their part as well. It was a tough call to decide our favorite between The Boozy Shrimp, Amar Akbar Anthony, and the lit Old Monk pizza (no spoilers on what this food consists of because you have to try it to believe it. And yes, the Old Monk Pizza has a drizzle of the good ol’ monk!) We do have a runner up and that’s Amar Akbar Anthony. All I’m going to say is that this is a dish worth the bragging.
It’s impressive that with a myriad of options to choose from, spanning over various cuisines, Giselle has managed to keep up their game throughout their offerings. Whether, you’re looking to savour fresh seafood, junk up on burgers and fries or feast on their loaded pizzas, they have you covered.
Basically, any cuisine you’re in the mood for, you can count on Giselle to satiate your cravings.
The mocktails are waiting to attain their higher purpose, replete with a spritz of alcohol. They’re all refreshing and concocted to excellence. Can’t wait to see what magic they may create if they get a liquor license.
There’s no meal like the one where you need a few minutes of time out after your meal; a nap in the gap perhaps. Giselle Resto Cafe pulled that off. I clearly overindulged.
Even though, Giselle is in its nascent stage, I believe that it has the potential to become one of the culinary hotspots in Bangalore, that pack a complete experience – delish food, tranquil ambiance and value for your buck.
