Nothing makes me happier than (good) multicuisine restaurants that do more small plates—such that diners can try as many items on the menu as the appetite allows without worrying about food wastage. This is one of many reasons why I love MYX, the tapas bar and restaurant in Juhu; the other being its tagline: “It’s a small world”. Inside its small world is a world of smart casuals and a relaxed vibe and appeal. It’s brightly lit indoors and alfresco seating in the outdoor section are likely to soothe your senses before the food begins engaging them in a most tantalising manner.
The menu is bifurcated into segments such as Almost Raw, Steamed, Baked, Crisp, Seared, Grilled and Tossed—seriously, there’s something for everyone here. Even for those on fitness and nutrition diets for the upcoming festive and wedding seasons. Those unrestricted by diets should try the Angry Bird Wings from the Seared category, which is a portion of confit chicken wings with a sweet ginger sauce, and a portion of the Black Truffle Scallop, which (no prizes for guessing) is a big bold explosion of truffle notes. The sushi and dim sums platters are mouthwatering—definitely try the Edamame Dimsums and the Bird Eye Chilli Salmon sushi, while you sip on Mimosas and Bellinis.
If it’s your first trip to Myx, don’t leave before trying the Sex in the Myx, a deconstructed version of the popular Sex on the Beach cocktail, blasted with liquid nitrogen. Tea lovers must try the Suleimani Chai cocktail (mixed with triple sec, Kahlua and vodka bubbling in a tea kettle) and the elegantly dressed, delectable Matcha Panna Cotta dessert.
