Ladies will agree with me when I say that a good-looking, good-natured man is greatly attractive. But when he speaks with a British accent and can also cook, he is incredibly irresistible. And this pretty much sums up Jamie Oliver—chef, author, anchor and <use an adjective of your choice> looking. After years of doing TV shows and writing cookbooks, he finally made his debut in India with one of his favourite cuisines—remember his book Jamie’s Italy?—and decided to bring down a quintessential part of it that will never really lose its charm. Pizza.
Lower Parel was the chosen venue and even though it’s been open for a while, getting a table here is a matter of luck. Albeit small, Jamie’s Pizzeria is a small but colourful space for those who crave a nice, generously topped pizza.
When it comes to flavour—even the garlic bread has a unique one—none of the ingredients used as toppings lose their individuality.
The Basil Pollo gives you everything that you’d expect with the ingredients individually and when put together taste just as good. It’s all about big, bold taste. Those counting calories should order Jamie’s Super Greens, which has a liberally topped with broccoli, spinach, sun-dried tomatoes, mozzarella, vegetarian parmesan and lemon.
One element that makes Jamie’s Pizzeria as popular as it is: the “Daily Specials”. Look up at the chalkboard and pick a pizza of your choice. Here, you may not have the liberty to make your own pizza but then, even you know that that’s best left to the expert.
