I wonder why a pizza is called junk food? I think it’s a very spiritual food.
Consider this – A square box with a round pizza that has triangle slices. It is almost like moving inwards and realizing transformation.
A pizza is the balm of every melancholic day, the cherry atop the celebrations of life, the golden rays of happy moments. You always need a pizza!
Eating a pizza is more like a sacred experience. The freshly baked golden crust becomes my little circumference of contentment. The bright red tomato sauce adds the much-needed zing. Melting cheese is like bursts of bliss. Crunchy vegetables, flavourful meats and the freshness of herbs – a melodious flow of flavours.
News has it that Jamie Oliver – yes that Cute looking chef who turns all things healthy into colourful and stunning looking food – is coming to town with his Pizzeria. The charming British celebrity chef Oliver is finally opening his popular restaurant chain Jamie’s Pizzeria at Mumbai’s High Street Phoenix. After Gurgaon and Delhi, this will be the first, of hopefully many more to set up in Mumbai.
Now Jamie is a chef with not just insane cooking skills but an even brighter conscious. The popular face of Naked Chef, Oliver has over 63 restaurants in 11 countries.
He sets the bar high in terms of bold flavours mixed with his signature style of using the freshest of ingredients and keeping the food simple. His pizzas make a healthy and nutritious option. This is a pizza place I always want to be in.
He may even surprise us with a Mumbai twist on a pan crust. Blending the local flavour with an English touch. But we will for sure find his heart and soul in the food served.
Expected to open in August, there is still some time before we can get a taste of Oliver.
